Procedure For Obtaining Licence For Working A New Lift

The Owner of the Place who is permitted to erect a lift, on completion of erection shall apply for a licence as under

• Duly fill in Form - 'C' - the notice of completion of erection of lift (Download Form - 'C') and enclose the following
• Form - 'D'- the work completion report obtained from the Manufacturer of Lifts (Download Form - 'D')
• Form - 'E'- the work completion report obtained from the Electrical Contractor (Download Form - 'E')
• Original receipted treasury challan for
  • Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) in case of lift having 5 landings;
  • Rs. 10000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) in case of lift having more than 5 landings; (The amount should be remitted into a Govt. Treasury (Eg. State Bank of India, Beach for Chennai City Area) under this department head of account)
• Copy of valid Insurance Policy (Third Party Liability) for the Lift taken by the Owner
• Forward the above in complete shape to the respective Divisional Electrical Inspector ( To know the Office location Click here)
