To further upgrade the metrology lab for better industrial competitiveness, economic security and quality of service to be rendered to calibration labs and industries in the eastern region in the fields of dimension metrology, pressure metrology and mass metrology. Issues to be addressed through this work are:
a) To extend the range of calibration and testing for service as well as R&D output.
b) To improve the uncertainties of measurements and bring them at par with National/International level. Better CMCs.
c) To replace old equipment with new equipment having upgraded technology.
d) The maintenance of traceability of Base and Derived units in CSIR-CMERI and maintenance of sophisticated measuring instruments /gauges in CSIR-CMERI.
