Ruthenium (III)-pac complexes catalyzed transformation of Carbon dioxide to value added products. Kinetic and mechanistic studies

Project Number:
GAP183012
Project Type:
Project Date:
18/06/2013 to 17/06/2016
Cost of the Project:
16.60
Sponsoring Agency:
Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, (Science & Engineering Research Board)
Deliverables:

I) to prepare a range of metal complexes containing pac ligands and to study the interaction of [Ru (Pac)(H2O)] complexes with CO2 and assess the redox behaviour of [Ru(pac)CO2)] complexs using electochemcial methods.
Ii) to study the kinetics and mechanism of the interactions of [Ru (Pac)(H2O)] complexes with CO2 and obtain the mechanistic details of the binding of [Ru (Pac)(H2O)] with CO2
iii) To study the kinetics and catalysis of electrochemical transformation of CO2 catalyzed by [Ru (Pac)(H2O)] complexes using electrochemcial methods, and obtain mechanistic information related to the multi-electron transfer processes involved in the above transformation.
iv) to study the [Ru (Pac)(H2O)] complexes catalyzed redox conversion of CO2 using phtochemical methods, and obtain mechanistic information.
v) Optimzation of the system in terms of product yield and slectivity. Attempt will be made to upgrade the catalystic system for sustainable application.
