Dr. Dipankar Chatterjee is the Principal Scientist in the Advanced Design and Analysis Group and ex-Head of "Simulation & Modeling Laboratory" at CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur. Earlier he was associated with LPMI, Arts et Métiers Paris Tech, France during 2008-2009. He has received his PhD from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2006. He is also the former faculty member of the "Department of Mechanical & Mining Machinery Engineering" in Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad. He is the Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of many International Journals of repute. He was nominated for the Marquis Who's Who in the World 2010 and recipient of the Metallurgist for the year 2011-12 by Indian Institute of Metals Durgapur Chapter for his contribution towards "Computational Fluid Dynamics in Materials Processing Applications", 2012. He has published around 120 International Journal and conference papers. He has also written three books/book chapters for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is the reviewer of many high impact International Journals. His main research interests are computational modeling of fluid flow and heat transfer over bluff obstacles, turbulence, phase change and reactive flow process modeling, lattice Boltzmann modeling and electromagnet hydrodynamic interactions in macro and micro flows.
