Surendra Kumar has about 22 years of job experience which include research experience (at National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur; and CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modeling and Computer Simulation, Bangalore) and teaching experience (at National Institute of Foundry and Technology, Ranchi). He received B.Sc. (Engg.) and M.Tech. degrees in mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur and Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
His fields of research interest include Stress Analysis of Structures, Finite Element Method, Composite Materials, Metal Working Processes and Software Development. He successfully completed about seven sponsored projects in the above fields as Principal Investigator and participated in several other sponsored projects. His research publications include about 15 papers in different reputed journals, 10 papers in conference proceedings and some technical reports. He has also authored one engineering book.
