HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDS :

Built by Uttamacholan in 975 A.D. Sembianmadevi wife of Kandaradithya cholan and other of Uttama cholan are donated lands. Rajaraja 1st and Rajendra 1st also made some donations to this temple.

STRUCTURAL CONDITION:

The above said temple considts of Sanctum Santorum, Artha Mandapam and Maha Mandapam. Learned vimanam over the Kalkaram of sanctum Sanctorum found with Diravida aechitectural style. Temple belongs to 10 th century and said it has been construted by Uthama Chola Period.
