CWSS to Alampalayam TP , Padaveedu TP and 669 rural habitations in Pallipalayam and Tiruchengode unions in Namakkal district and Sankagiri TP in Salem district was administratively sanctioned vide G.O. Ms. No.16 Dated 05.03.2018 at an estimated cost of Rs.399.46 Crore with funding pattern under NABARD RIDF and TP and Rural CGF .

From this scheme it is proposed to supply 25.51 MLD of water to the Intermediate (2035) population of 4.92 Lakh and 34.29 MLD to the Ultimate (2050) population of 6.61 Lakh.

It is proposed to draw surface water from river cauvery in the upstream side of Urachikkottai barrage from the proposed Collection well cum pump house of size 15MX8.00M. Then water will be pumped through a raw water main for a length of 12.570 Km to the WTP (25.51 MLD) proposed at Pallakkapalayam. From the proposed WTP clear water is being pumped to 46 Nos of Sumps through a clear water pumping main length of 43.62 KM, branch pumping main of length of 173.32 Km feeder main length of 575.42 Km to the existing service reservoirs and 28 Nos of newly constructed service reservoirs. From the service reservoirs water is being distributed to the public through existing D’System and newly laid 26.00Km length of Distribution system.

The work order was issued on 16.08.2018. Now all works completed and the scheme is under contractor maintenance. At present 25.51 MLD of water is being supplied to 4.92 Lakh population.
