Augumentation of WSS to 708 habitations in Annur & Sulur unions in Coimbatore District, Avinashi union in Tiruppur District with Bulk provision to 165 Habitations in Tiruppur union of Tiruppur District was administratively sanctioned for Rs.362.20 crore vide G.O.(Ms) No.20/dated.13.02.2020. The scheme is to be implemented under NABARD fund.

The Intermediate (2035) and Ultimate (2050) population for this scheme is 4.75 Lakh and 6.42 Lakh, respectively. The intermediate and ultimate requirements of water for the scheme is 26.88 MLD and 36.16MLD respectively. Augumentation of water supply is being done in 3 Packages.

• Package I-Water supply to 223 RHs by regrouping the existing WSIS to Tiruppur Municipality, 4 TPs and 412 ways RHs.
• Package II-Watersupply to 378 RHs by regrouping the existing CWSS to 249 RHs in Annur, Avinashi and Sulur unions
• Package III-Water supply to 107 Habitations with new collection well at Kutheripalayam in River Bhavani. Raw water main is 25.70 KM length upto the proposed 11.51 MLD capacity WTP at Nariyampalli.

The clear water from the above 3 schemes is proposed to be conveyed to village panchayat sumps ( Proposed – 59 Nos, Existing – 18 Nos) through a length of 274.12 KM. From the Village Panchayat sumps water will be conveyed through proposed feeder main of 634.945 km to the 259 Service reservoirs proposed and 614 existing Service reservoirs and distributed through the proposed distribution system of 225.500 km and existing distribution system.

Work order for this scheme was issued on 01.10.2020 and works are in progress. The scheme is targeted for completion by 08/2023 and put into beneficial use.
