CWSS to Panamrathupatti, Elampillai, Edanganasalai, Mallur and Attayampatty Town Panchayats And 778 Rural Habitations In Panamarathupatty, Veerapandy and Salem Unions in Salem District was administratively sanctioned vide G.O.(Ms) No.96, dated.09.09.2020 for Rs.652.84 crore and executed with the funds from NABARD and MNP.

On implementation of this scheme 50.70 MLD of water to the Intermediate population (2036) of 5.24 lakh and 58.32 MLD of water to the ultimate population (2051) of 6.03 lakh will be supplied .

In this schemes, surface water is drawn from the Cauvery River near Poolampatti through a proposed collection well and pump house (19.00 meters x 7.25 meters). Raw Water is pumped to Treatment plant of 53.23 MLD Capacity located at Kalparapatti located at a distance of 41.750 Kms. The Clear water is pumped to the 76 nos of Sumps and then to 259 nos of newly constructed Service Reservoirs and existing Service Reservoirs through a pumping main and feeder main network of 1080.590 Kms. Then Water is distributed to the public through a distribution net work of 176.98 Kms newly laid and existing D’system .

The work order for the scheme was issued for packages II, III, IV & V on 12.01.2021 and package – I on 24.02.2021. Now all works were completed and the scheme is put in to beneficial use.
