Combined Water supply scheme to 250 rural habitations in Andipatty, Kadamalaigundu, Mayiladumparai and Theni Union of Theni District was administratively sanctioned for Rs. 162.43 crore vide G.O.(Ms.) No.30, Dt: 02.03.2020 with Vaigai river as source. The scheme is being implemented with the funding pattern under NABARD-NIDA and state share under MNP.

The population at intermediate (2036) and ultimate (2051) stage are 1.58 Lakh & 1.78 Lakh respectively. Adopting a prorata supply of 55 LPCD with sustainability, the water supply requirement for intermediate stage and ultimate stage are 9.30 MLD and 10.70 MLD respectively.

In this scheme the water will be drawn from from river vaigai near pickup weir on Downstream side of Vaigaidam through intake well and raw water will be collected in the collection well. Then the raw water will be pumped through raw water main of length 4.05 Km to proposed water treatment plant capacity of 10.70 Million litre near kovilpatti Village. The treated water will be pumped to proposed 40 group sumps through transmission main of length 172.00 Km. From the group sumps water will be pumped to existing service reservoirs and 41 newly proposed service reservoirs through feeder main and branch main for a length of 256.11 km. From the service reservoirs, water will be distributed to the public through the existing distribution system and proposed distribution system for a length of 24.50 Km.

Work order for this scheme was issued on 28.09.2020 and work are in progress. So far, 86 % of work has been completed. The scheme is targeted for completion by June 2023.
