CWSS to 434 Habitations in 22 Village Panchayats of Chennimalai Union in Erode District has been announced to be taken up for investigation by the Hon’ble minister for MA&WS and Rural Development in the floor of the assembly in the year 2021-22 under Demand No.34. CWSS to 434 Habitations in 22 Village Panchayats of Chennimalai Union in Erode District was administratively sanctional vide G.O.(Ms) No.142/ dated.11.10.2022 for Rs.437.74 crore. The scheme is to be implemented under JJM fund.

The Intermediate (2039) and Ultimate (2054) population for this scheme is 186540 and 226600,respectively. By adopting pro-rata supply of 55 LPCD the intermediate and ultimate requirements of water for the scheme is 15.04 MLD and 17.74MLD respectively.

The source for this CWSS is river Cauvery near sri Periyasamundeeswari Amman temple of Muthugoundenpalayam panchayat in Modakurichi union and the Raw water is proposed to be collected in offtake well the raw water is to be conveyed through rwa water main of 9.06 km to Intermediate Booster station at Ellai Nagar and from Ellai Nagar then to 12.11 MLD capacity water treatment plant located at Vellamuthugoundenvalasu at a distance of 12.64 cm.

The water from 42 sumps will be conveyed through a feeder main of 618.39 Km length to the Service reservoirs of 266 Nos. In this schemes 28640 Nos of HSC are to be provided.

Work order for this scheme was issued on 06.03.2023 and works are in progress. The scheme is targeted for completion by 09/2024 and put into beneficial use.
