Combined water supply to 667 Rural habitations in 6 unions of Thiruvarur District was administratively sanctioned vide G.O.Ms.No.42/MA& WS(Ws1) Dept./Dt.04.03.2023 for Rs.1127.20 crore to install and Rs.13.34 crore to maintained annually under Jal Jeevan Mission Fund

The population benefitted at intermediate (2037) and ultimate (2052) stage are 4,67,929 lakh & 5,23,433 lakh respectively. The water supply requirement for intermediate stage and ultimate stage are 29.36 MLD and 32.35 MLD respectively.

In this scheme the required water is drawn from River Coleroon through three numbers of collector wells proposed in River Coleroon at Vadugakudi – 1 No., Achanur – 2 Nos. connecting main Consist of 500 & 400mm dia DI K7 pipes for a length of 3460m and pumped to collection sump at vadugakudi Of Papanasam Taluk in Thanjavur District. And then pumped to Booster sump at Nallur capacity of 18.10 LL through pumping main for a length of 40.775 Km. From Nallur Booster station, the water will be pumped to Mudikondan Tapping sump to a capacity of 6.10 LL and Ammaiyappan Booster sump to a capacity of 12.85 LL and Ammaiyppan Booster sump to Elavanur Group sump and Ogaiperaiyur Tapping sump. The pumping main and branch pumping main for a total length of 473.348 Km and proposed Booster, Tapping sump- 5Nos. the water will be pumped to 151 Nos. of proposed Group sumps. From the respective Panchayat sumps water will be pumped to various capacity of 209 proposed Service Reservoirs and 1027 existing service reservoirs. From the service reservoir water will be distributed to the public through existing and proposed Distribution system net work of 875.76 Km. From this scheme 44928 Functional Household connections (FHTC’s) will be provided.

Work order for this scheme has been issued on 06.05.2023. The scheme is programmed to be completed and put into beneficial use of the public by November -2024.
